Hong Linh Mountain Range is situated in Ha Tinh Province in the north central region of Vietnam. It is considered as the symbol of Ha Tinh Province. The Mountain Range also houses a few historical sites carved into the nine dynastic urns in the 7th year of Minh Mang reign (1836).

Hong Linh literally means “red mountain range”. The mountains famously have 99 peaks. Thap Co is the highest one. Hong Linh Mount houses many beautiful caves such as Che Hai, Da Hang, Ham Rong. There is the system of dams, ponds at the foot of Hong Linh Mountain, the highlight of which is My Duong Pond with the length of over 8km.

Along with the history of national construction and defense, nowadays, Hong Linh Mountain still retains many valuable historical relics such as: Tien Son, Huong Tich Pagoda, Chan Tien Pagoda, Thien Tuong Pagoda.

Nguyen Hue built the Trung Do Citadel on Hong Linh mountain. The mountains were the place of retirement of Nguyen Du. In earlier days villagers went into the Hong Linh mountains at times of poor crops for hunting and harvesting rattan and leaves to make raincoats and hats.

Every year, many festivals take place in Hong Linh Mountain, typically Tien Son Cultural Festival (the 15th day of the first lunar month), Huong Tich Pagoda Festival (the 18th day of the second lunar month), Chan Tien Pagoda Festival (the 3rd day of the third lunar month).
