Formerly known as Bach Thao Gardens, Hanoi Zoo is home to about 800 animals with over 90 different species on exhibition, including big cats, monkeys and reptiles. The zoo is located within Thu Le Park – a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi central.

There are also other Hanoi attractions such as Bo Mountain, Voi Phuc Temple. Voi Phuc Temple, meaning “prostrated elephant,” was built during the Ly Dynasty to worship the Linh Lang deity. This temple is associated with the Ling Lang legend (a famous national Vietnamese legend), because it is allegedly built to worship Saint Linh Lang who defeated the Chinese enemy.

Hanoi Zoo has thousands of trees and flowers. It also features entertaining games such as driving carts, ball games, and electronic games; there is a bookshop and an outdoor stage for dancing.
