The Best 4 Day Ha Giang Trekking Tour has just released by our local team, taking you to the less travel places of Vietnam where you visit remote H’mong villages, and beautiful terraced paddy fields.
Day 1: Arrive Ha Giang.
Welcome by our local guide. You start your trek by following a village path for about one hour before you make the first stop for visiting a house of the Tay. Spend a little time for exploring their traditional house, customs and traditions. Keep trekking uphill for around two more hours through primitive forest, tea plantations and terraced paddy fields. You arrive then in a village of the Black Dzao, located by the hillside. There you make another break for lunch, provided at local home. In the afternoon, you continue hiking uphill for another 3.5 hours before you arrive in a village of the Dzao “long dress”. The Ao Dai in their name is due to the similarity of their tunic to the Ao Dai of the Viet Kinh. However, it is usually hooked up at the front. A distinctive bonnet of black and red material embroidered at the edges and decorated with coloured tassels and small coins is also worn. There you have time for a short walk before having dinner at local home.
Day 2: Ha Giang Trekking.
After breakfast, provided at local home, you trek downhill for about a half hour through Nung and Dzao villages. With a total population of over 700,000 the Nung constitute the seventh largest ethnic minority group in Vietnam. Nung communities are found today mainly in Cao Bang and Lang Son provinces, but they are also settled in parts of Ha Giang province. A stop is scheduled for visiting local houses or the local primary school (if possible). You keep trekking uphill for about three more hours until you reach the summit of the Tung San pass. Arrival at the Tung San summit at about 12.30, you make a stop where your lunch is provided in the open air. You spend the afternoon admiring the beauty of terraced rice fields, the tea plantations of the Dzao “long dress”. The hiking trail of the afternoon trek is larger, easier. Enjoy homes-hosted dinner and spend the night at local home.
Day 3: Ha Giang Trekking.
Breakfast is provided at local home. Departure at 9.00 AM. You follow a dirt road which leads to the community of the La Chi. There a stop is scheduled for your discovery of the Vietnam smallest ethnic group. Follow a small trail that runs in zigzag through green forest and isolated villages of the H’mong, the Tay and the Nung, the trek last for about three hours before you make a short stop for lunch. Keep trekking in the afternoon until you get into Hoang Su Phi. Lying at the bottom of towelling Tay Con Linh mountains, Hoang Su Phi is famous not only for its most beautiful terraced fields but also its traditional market where people from the ethnic minority groups of Tay, Nung, Dao and H’Mong gather from early morning to mid-day every Sunday. Check into a local hotel for overnight.
Day 4: Ha Giang – Hanoi.
We have breakfast at the guest-house and then walk to the market, open only on Sunday, and then travel back to Hanoi.

This can happen with little notice so please be prepared for modifications to the route. The order and timing of included activities in each location may also vary from time to time.

For some itineraries, the role of tour leader and representative is combined.
Principally, Lotussia Travel requires all the trip associates to know the destinations well by any means of traveling or enquiry to the local suppliers to figure out all the relative details of any trip. For adventure tours such as jungle trekking, mountain hiking, sea kayaking, river rafting or biking, cycling tours, LOTUSSIA Travel will never add any new routes into available schedule until survey or pre-view it.
Lotussia Travel carefully choose all the hotels, guest-houses or home-stays based on service quality, location, and characteristics, doing best to make the accommodations in the remote small places as comfortable as possible. Please bear in mind that hotels in Vietnam might not be in the same standard in other country. Generally hotels in major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Hoian, Hue…are much better than hotels and guest-houses in mountainous areas.
Lotussia Travel take dinning as an indispensable experience to clients since it is an important part in Vietnamese culture. Therefore, Lotussia Travel will not intend take clients to the most expensive restaurants but non-touristy local ones which offer delicious, local food, with nice or interesting atmosphere. The restaurants might be simple in the country but LOTUSSIA Travel guarantee is sanitary and cleanliness. Or even on our trek, we encourage our cook offer client food with new tastes from day to day. During adventure itineraries to mountainous or remote areas, there is sometimes no choice for hotel and restaurants. We will try our best to bring you the best taste of local food.
As the tap water in Vietnam is undrinkable, Lotussia Travel recommend clients to drink bottled water throughout your trip, or boiled water on treks. Lotussia Travel offers bottle water all the day, and soft drinks like Cola, Sprite or Vietnamese Tea or if possible juice in restaurants (if mentionned in itinerary). This is not automatically included in the packages. In simple restaurant or on camping, Lotussia Travel offers boiled water, instant coffee or juice, wrapped milk (Details are confirmed in bottom of your itinerary).
In most destinations of Vietnam, all the roads are well paved though the traffic is quite messed up like in Hanoi, Hai Phong… We use proper vehicles, car, minibus or coach in good condition based on the size of the groups. We use 4WD only on the rough road where the other vehicles could not pass through or based on clients requirement on overland journeys or treks. For cycling itineraries, we usually use our support minibus or minibus with support truck. For sea kayaking, river rafting trips, diving packages we use standard boat as support. Detailed information is provided on our service proposal.
We use drivers who are native or local of each travel destination and maintain good safety records for all trips. Most of our drivers can speak English but a little bit. This is just enough to understand basic words such as “time of departure”, “stop”, “restaurants”, “hotels”…If you want to learn more about Vietnamese culture and information about sightseeing sites, booking a tour guide is highly recommended.
