Cao Son market is situated on the altitude of 1500m of the tiny village of Lo Suoi Tung, Cao Son commune, Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province. It is about 50km from Lao Cai train station, and 80km from Sapa town.
The market runs on Wednesdays and are visited by the hill tribes of Dzay, Blue H’mong and Flower H’mong. It is a place for the mountain people to meet and to shop.
Cao Son market is a small local market but still interesting to watch all the local people barter in their colorful attire. The place is well-known for its wonderful mountain view, green prehistoric jungle and also the very untouched nature.
