Trip Description & Day-by-day Itinerary
This two days trip is an off-the-beaten path itinerary we design for you. The tour starts from Hue, taking you through DMZ, and war sites to Chay Lap Rustic Homestay where you enjoy different outdoor activities – cycling, river kayaking and jungle trekking.

Overnight Trip Hue to Chay Lap Rustic Itinerary
Day 1: Hue – DMZ – Chay Lap (-/L/D)
At 08:00 am, our guide and driver will meet you at your hotel/airport/railways station in Hue, and depart to Chay Lap Village. En route, we will stop to visit some remaining places on the DMZ (Demiliterized Zone) such as Hien Luong Bridge, and the Vinh Moc Tunnels. Here you will get a chance to learn about the Vietnam War. You will have lunch at Cua Tung Beach. You will get to Chay Lap in the afternoon, check into the homestay and then head out on bicycles for a taste of ecotourism as you venture through the National Park where you will get a chance to the local nature in the tranquility of the forest. You will get to view some of the rare wild animals in Red-book that have been re-discovered and preserved there such as Ha Tinh langur, Annamese Leaf Monkey Trachypithecus hatinhensis, Annamese Macaques, Mountain hockey bird…
We will return to the homestay before dark and you can choose to help prepare and cook the dinner with the host if you wish. You will be guided to learn how to cook the local food called: “Steamed Fish with Beer, served along with local herbs”. You will spend the rest of the night at Chay Lap homestay.
Cycling: 10 – 20 km
Day 2: Chay Lap – Hue (B/L/-)
After breakfast, we will leave the homestay for kayaking on Chay River to the Dark Cave, Nuoc Mooc Springs. A short trek through the Park with a local guide will then teach you about the codes of a conservation environment before we have a picnic lunch on one of the paths in the forest and enjoy swimming at Nuoc Mooc Springs.
Next on the agenda for the day is to take a bus to the boat landing for a cruise on the Son River to visit the Phong Nha Cave, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site and a breathtakingly beautiful cave. And finally, we head back to Hue via the Ho Chi Minh Highway in the late afternoon and take you to your hotel. End the services.
